Alicia Ray is a veteran educator of 20 years from North Carolina. She has taught PreK-8th grade students in the classroom and in the school library. She loves teaching Project Lead The Way (PLTW) at Central Middle School in Surry County, NC. She was a finalist in the 2024 MagicSchoolAI Teacher of the Year. She was selected as a NCBCE AI Fellow in 2025-2026, and is an ISTE Certified Educator. Alicia earned a BS in Elementary Education from Appalachian State University and a MAEd in Instructional Technology and Master of Library Science from East Carolina University. Alicia is the mother of two incredible daughters; Bailey is a 17 year old aspiring machinist and Sophie is an 13 year old aspiring zookeeper living with Type 1 Diabetes.
